OUR BEGINNINGS WERE HUMBLE
Hello gorgeous, thanks for stopping by! I am Ashley, the girl behind Gloss Makeup + Beauty. I started Gloss because I have always been obsessed with makeup and I love sharing that with my friends and family, and now with gorgeous women such as yourself. I am located in Central Alberta, but travel nationally and internationally. I am a lover of all things healthy glowing skin, makeup and confidence!
I am a photographer, and have been for many years. I thought it would be so useful to take a course to ensure that number one, I was doing my own makeup properly, that I was being as hygienic as possible when doing makeup for friends, and to learn new techniques! It was just an added bonus that this way I could also do makeup for my photography clients, should the need ever arise.
I attended Eveline Charles Academy in Calgary and took their Makeup Level One course, and attained my professional makeup certification in April 2015. I watch a ton of youtube tutorials because I think that there are so many amazing makeup artists out there, and you can always learn something new from everyone. I also took training in brow waxing, tinting, henna, and lamination.
I then started diving into better skin care for myself, and healthy skin is so important in general, but also as a base canvas for your makeup application. So many of my clients and friends are unaware of how to properly care for their skin. I took a dermaplaning course in 2019 from AMP Beauty Co. and fell more in love with skin care than ever before as I saw what a good routine, products and services can do for your face! I also became certified in Chemical Peels through AMP Beauty Co. in 2021.
I love taking classes and workshops to not only maintain my skills, but also learn new ones and learn about new products. I recently added some new skin care techniques to my list of services, and will continue to do so!
